worming/delousing chicks

Peep and Cheep (Wyandottes) are 5 weeks old and cute as li'l buttons. At what age is it safe to put wormer in the water and delouse the other girls and the bedding? I also usually put a splash of apple cider vinegar in the water, is it safe to do this at their age?

ACV should be safe for the chicks. For worming, I'm not sure. I guess it depends on what wormer you use.
As for delousing, offering a dust bathing spot with wood ash in it should keep away the louse.

Wood ash! What a great idea! I will set something up tomorrow. Thanks.The wormer bottle doesn't say, I might leave it a while, they all look pretty healthy to me.

Some people (such as myself) never worm our chickens. Other people worm regularly. Its based on climate, opinion, and other such things.

One of my girls died for no apparent reason. I read somewhere it may have been worms. But I'm sure we never wormed the chooks on the farm when I was a child.
