I have recently got 6 new hens to incorporate into our flock but have them seperate for quarantine.

I have treated them with eprinex and coxiprol in the water. Thinking they might have scaly leg mite, now my question is, will the eprines that was placed on shoulder blade skin work for the scaly leg or do I need to use something else?

Thanks

Do you have any pictures? Have you seen any lice or body mites running around on the skin? Scaly leg mites are better treated with oil, such as castor oil or vaseline applied to the legs and rubbed in 3 days a week to smother the mites. Vicks salve or Nustock cream can also kill the mites with their ingredients. For worming, ivermectin has lost it’s ability to kill worms lately. I would use Valbazen 1/2 ml orally for a 4-6 pound hen, and repeat that in 10 days for most worms. SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer 1/4 ml per pound given for 5 consecutive days orally will also works.
