I have 9 hens, of assorted breeds, that we got from a local farm about a year ago. We haven't had any major problems with them really, except for a prolapsed vent just recently in one and some diarrhea in another, both problems were remedied quickly. They are fed layer crumbles, flaxseed and fruit & veggie scraps, plus they are able to free range quite often. We haven't wormed them and are not sure if they ever have been. Just wondering if we should worm them now just as a precaution. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
