What is a good worming plan for 3 Peafowl. Currently I have just been mixing safeguard pellets in their feed every 3 months. I was thinking of throwing Ivermectin in twice yearly. What works for everyone else? I need something I can mix in their feed or water. Handling them puts too much stress on them.

Welcome to BYC!

If you want to worm blindly, and what I mean by that is worming without knowing if you need to or what kind of worms you have, , then buy Wormout Gel. Dose is 47 ml per gallon for two days, repeat in 10-14 days. It will treat all worms, including tapeworms, but only if they drink enough water. Another option is Valbazen in the water. Allegedly it's more water soluble than Safeguard and will be quite effective if they drink enough medicated water.

Safeguard pellets don't treat all worms when used as labeled. Ivermectin *might* treat large roundworms.
Levamisole will treat most worms if they drink enough medicated water.

Does that help?

Yes it does! I just want them to be as healthy as possible. After loosing my big boy to an unknown respiratory illness I want to do as much preventive care as I can. What are your thoughts on 5 IN 1?

I've had a couple peafowl owners suggest I do 3 days of this in their drinking water. Since I don't know what exactly killed my big peacock. Just a precautionary measure. Apparently its made for pigeons. Many have been using it when they get new birds before putting them in with the flock and on peachicks. Its gotten good reviews.

They will herd easily and take treats from my hand. They are social around us but trying to catch and restrain them is a major stress. If they get sick, in severe circumstances like our last one that didn't make it, we will catch them to give them injections. Other then that all wormers and meds go in their water or food.
