Worming treatment and calcium

Hi, was told by our produce store to give our girls calcium and then to wait a week before worming them, does this sound correct?
 
Nope. It's probably an old wive's tale. Giving them calcium (oyster shell, eggs shells) can be done all year round, and they'll just take what they need. Worming doesn't need any extra supplements. Personally, I wouldn't worm them unless you see a bunch of worm-filled terds laying around

If they don't free-range, they probably don't need to be wormed, either.
