I just moved my 1 month old turkey poults from the brooder to a larger pen. When should I start worming them?

Not that I'm aware of. I have seen some earthworms though, after all of the rain we've had up until this week. I worm my Peafowl, Chickens and Emu's monthly though, I don't want to take any chances. I alternate between Wazine one month and Safeguard the next. I will probably incorporate Ivomec at some point as well.

I didn't know turkeys needed worming. Is it something to do on a regular basis, or are there signs to watch for, then de-worm them. Is it something that is added to their food?

(I have pictures of struggling to get a tube of worm paste in their mouths like I do with my horse)

I have never wormed my heritage turkeys and have never had a problem with worms. I would probably advise not doing anything unless you actaully know for sure you have a problem. Worming excessively can also be hard on their systems. Wondering if there are some natural preventatives you could try that would be gentler, like pumpkin seeds (unsalted) or a bit of apple cider in the water.
