Worming?

I bought day old chicks from a feed store about four to five weeks ago. They are now out on the yard in their pen/coop. Do they need to be dewormed like other animals or not? Can someone give me insight on this. This is my first flock and I honestly don't know to much about it

I never wormed my chicks and they are fine. But then again, almost no insects survive Wisconsin winters, and we haven't had them for a Summer yet.

Many of us don't ever need to worm out chickens, and other flocks are needing meds annually. With a new flock, you can wait and see. Consider having a fecal test run at your veterinarian's sometime this year, and then decide.
