Worms in droppings....any advice on wormer??????

My egg production has dropped over the last couple of weeks and I have observed worms in the droppings. I immediately went and got some wormer (Wazine17) and gave it to the flock in their drinking water. I read that I would have to worm again in about 10 days with another broad spectrum wormer. Can anyone give me advice on the 2nd wormer that should be used???? Thanks so much for any input.

Depends on the kind of worms!! I use Ivermectin, which is off-label for chickens, but nearly every effective product is also off-label. It also doesn't kill tapeworms. Can't remember right now what the other product is for them. Consider having a fecal test run by your veterinarian, and maybe take actual worms in to be identified.. Mary

Valbazen?

I would absolutely use Valbazen, it will take care of any kind of worms a chicken will pick up. Ivermectin is, according to my avian vet, no longer a very effective dewormer for chickens.

I would also keep the chickens on a routine deworming schedule to avoid them getting such a heavy load of parasites again in the future.

I was considering either Valbazen or Ivermectin so thanks for the info....it's really been a help.
