worms in quail poop

If there are worms in your quail poop you need to give your quail wormer. Your chickens probably already have worms if your quail have them so you may want to worm them too. Worms are parasites and are bad for the health of the birds.

Definitely don't feed them to your chickens! After worming ALL your birds, I would recommend adding FOOD GRADE Diatomaceous Earth to your birds feed. I use it and have never had any worm issues. It mechanically kills worms as opposed to chemically. I've also noticed less flys and odor below cages and in coops!

They could just be fly larvae. Are your birds outside where flies have access to the poop?

Feed them DE if outside. Unless you're a controlled indoor environment then DE is good preventative healthcare.

I have no experience what so ever of DE, I never even heard about it before I read it on this forum. Tried to find out what it is and whether you can get it around here. Seems we do have a few places in Denmark where it is extracted, but usually what they extract is 2/3 DE and 1/3 clay and as far as I have been able to find out, it is mainly used for cat litter

Anyway, when looking into what it was, I found that it only worked when dry, so when I read that it worked against internal parasites(have read that in several places), I was somewhat confused. However, then I found a place where it said it worked on the larvae from the parasites, that hatch in the poop, rather than on the actual parasites, and that makes somewhat more sense to me - the poop dries and the DE starts working again, I guess. But I suppose that doesn't help much, if the quail eat the poop when it is still wet, which they are probably more likely too..

Many will debate but my dog got a SERIOUS case of worms after catching and consuming several squirrels. I mixed a tablespoon of DE to his kibble and added water so he didn't inhale the dust (DE). After a week a very noticeable difference in his stools, and at a month, he was was worm free...confirmed by my veterinarian via fecal test. To each his own...but based on my personal experience, I'll continue to use DE for intestinal parasites, as well as for the added benefits of less odor/insects around the coops/aviaries.
