I would not feed something to my dog that says on the package to use a dust mask while you work with it. As far as that goes I wouldn't want my quail breathing that stuff either. Look up a picture of a DE grain under a microscope and you'll see why they use it on external parasites. It's like a tiny crystal with very sharp edges on every angle.

That's exactly why I mix it with water before giving it to my dog. For my birds, I usually toss their greens in it... that way, the DE sticks to the greens and is not being inhaled.

What are the worms in the quail poop? Can these be fed to my chickens?

If they were worms and not maggots you should deworm your flock with something like Safeguard or Valbazen.
