Last year we grew broccoli for the first time and found little worms on them. Of course DH and DS ate it up while DD and myself watched in disgust as they chewed up and swallowed the little things

How can I keep them off my broccoli this year??

Did it get rid of all of them?

Of course I didn't think to look closely when we had our first meal with our new fresh broccoli..it was soooo good. I am sure they were on there, I just didn't know about them or see them. Now I inspect even the grocery store broccoli!

If you check the plants early in the morning or right after a rain, you can pick them off and feed them to your chicks. My 2 month olds love them.

Mix some liquid dish soap in a sprayer bottle of water, spray your broccli. often, especially after it rains, be sure to get back out there and spray that soapy water again!

STILL GOT WORMS ON YOUR BROCCLI? Soak the head in salty water in the fridge, rinse under hard flow, then cook. Hubby suggests a thick cheese sauce, you'll nrver see or taste worms.

Fill your clean sink with salt water, place cut broccoli in the water and weight it down with a plate. Wait about 20 minutes, take off the weighted plate, remove the broccoli. Most of the worms will have fallen off and will be in the bottom of the sink. The few remaining on the broccoli will fall off if you rinse them well.
