Worms? What to do?

Why would you want to know the type? It really doesnt matter.
Give your birds the Equimax or Zimecterin Gold. Either product will kill the tapeworms no matter what type tapeworms they are.
Mostly curiosity, but, they can’t do it anyway…so I’ll be treating them.

Thanks for the advice. Picked up Zimectrin Gold today. Will remove food tonight (leave water of course), then dose tomorrow night.

It’s a syringe type push dose for paste. Pic.

Best method to administer to a chicken? A pea size on my gloved finger?

And repeat again in 10-14 days? Followed by a 14 day egg withdrawal?

Take a needless needleless syringe, put it in the end of the Zimectrin Gold's syringe, pull to draw up the correct dosing.
Get a hold of your bird, pull down on the wattles, open the beak, syringe the medication into the beak, let go of the wattles, let the bird swallow.

Yes, repeat in 14days. 14day egg withdrawal after the last dosage.
Equimax horse paste also will treat tapeworms at a dosage of 0.16 ml for a 5 pound chicken. Repeat in 14 days. Egg withdrawal time is at least 2 weeks. The Zimectrin Gold dosage is different. It is 0.3 ml for a 5 pound chicken. Repeat in 14 days. The Equimax is a little less expensive and will treat twice as many.
edited to correct spelling.

Thank you!

Update: they are still alive, still laying eggs. Medicated 2nd time last night. Today got them in the quarantine pen, where they will stay for the next 12 or so days. Bc of the deep cold last week, they spent a boring week in a very large dog carrier on a table in the barn. No infighting amongst the inmates, which was good. Measuring out the med was an interesting endeavor, but they got enough. Thanks for all your help!
