Worms

So was letting my ducks out into the run this morning and found this

I inspected more duck poop today than I ever care to and this is the only one I found with a worm in it

never dealt with duck worms before. Any suggestions?

Appears to be a tapeworm segment. For tapeworms, a praziquantel-based wormer has the best efficacy; you can use Equimax, or Zimercitn. The Equimax dose is 0.03ml per pound, orally, once, then again in ten days. Zimectrin dose 0.06ml per pound, orally, once then again in ten days.

I don’t know which duck it is of my 6 female so figure I should treat all of them? on this medicine are the eggs able to be eaten or should they be discarded?

My understanding is that tapeworms don't shed segments consistently. So they may all have them but only one duck may shed a segment. This makes tapeworms harder to diagnose. I would likely treat all my ducks, personally. I would also consult my avian vet, and I am curious what Isaac's opinion is.

When treating my ducks for parasites my vets have had me discard all the eggs for three weeks after the last dose of medication.

If you do not know which duck produced the segments in the picture, I would dose the whole flock, and do so early in the morning, where the GI tract is empty so the medication is less likely to be diluted down via contents in the tract. 14 days would suffice as far as egg withdrawal.
