ok everyo I found this in one of my girls poop this morning. There was 2 live large worms. I'm not sure what type they are, how they got them or what to treat with. Any suggestions?

Looks like a roundworm. Do you have Valbazen liquid or Safeguard liquid for goats or Safeguard paste for horses?

  • Valbazen dose for most worms is 0.08 ml per pound orally and repeat in ten days.

  • Safeguard dose for *just* roundworms and cecal worms is 0.23 ml per pound orally and repeat in ten days, but if you want to treat for capllary worms, too, it's 0.23 ml per pound for *five consecutive* days.

Tractor Supply carries Safeguard in the goat, cattle and horse sections, but they don't usually have Valbazen.

Bang for the buck, Valbazen is the better choice, so see if you can find it.

No, I don't have those items here, and I just went to Tractor Supply and they don't carry them as well. I also looked for Wazine and they were out of that. Is there anything I should be doing with the coop?

Ok, I have some Ivermectin, topical.  I put .5cc on each girls back, hope this is the correct thing to do.

Ivermectin is not an effective poultry wormer, but do let us know if you see dead worms in the next few days. Your best bet is to buy some Safeguard for goats or Valbazen.
