So this is my first hatch and I have 28 eggs of mixed variety. The temperature has been fairly constant between 97 and 100 degrees.

I think I may have had too much water in it the first few days and am getting a hydrometer this afternoon.

I don't have an egg turner though and have been doing it by hand. My incubator is the Hovabator 1602N and since I turn them by hand the temp drops for about 5 mins while I turn them all (gloved hand rather).

Is there anything else that I should be doing or should not be doing? This is my first hatch and I want a good success rate obviously.

Once you get the hydrometer the humidity should be 40-50%. You are doing pretty good. I had the same bator and had a few good hatches.
