Worried about keeping temp up in brooder

My little ladies, are about a week old now.
I have a therm in there when it was reading 100 they were all trying to stay away from under it, when it read 90 they were spread out and relaxed. I have been monitoring them, and have to lower the heat lamp at night (brooder is in the garage) to keep it a steady 90. Also during chickie play time, they are in our house, which is probably about 70 and they do fine for play time

(no huddling etc).

I hope I'm doing it right too
