Worried about my bantam chick

Thanks! I will try that!

Okay -- I have a slightly different bizarre behavior to ask about. The larger chicks were just laying down for a nap, when one of them started scrabbling/kicking her feet on the floor. A minute later another one did it. Now they're all doing it. It's almost like the scratching motion, but they're laying down!!! It looks really strange. They're all eating, pooping, drinking just fine. Are they okay? Is that a normal chick behavior???

*kind of a newbie*

r they on shavings?? they might b trying to dust bathe! it kinda looks like they r having a seizure...the lay on their sides, throw their legs around, and sometimes turn their heads kinda upside down, then will stand up and do a big shake to get all that stuff out of their feathers!

LOL! Come to think of it, that is exactly what it looks like they were doing! They're on an old dish towel for now, but hey, they've been trying to scratch "in" it too. Go figure!

I'm happy to say that I saw my little tiny eating the crumbles just a few minutes ago! She sounded quite excited about it, too.

So I'm hopeful she will be just fine now. Still going to keep an eye on that one, just to be sure.

Here's a pic of my bantam sweetness! The tiny fighter is the black and yellow one facing the camera. (Yes, this is just before I cleaned the brooder. One of the big gals likes to throw all of the food out of the dish so she can "scratch" in it...

Just an update: Little Monkey is doing great now -- she's getting huge! At least, I really hope it's a she....she seems to be slower to mature than the others (no tail feathers yet -- yikes?), but I've heard that's true about cochins??? Anyway, she's still just the sweetest thing. She loves hopping into my hand and snuggling up for a nap, and trying to "fly" with the big girls.

Thanks to everyone who helped me get her on track!

Yeah, Cochins are slower to mature. Just watch the comb--some get them really early, I can't see any yet, so still may be a girl! Of course, the ones you get the most attached to are always the boys...
