Hello. We’ve had a successful hatch with out Rhode Island Whites. It’s a first time for me from a homemade incubator. I’m now a little worried about one little baby. It took almost three days and still didn’t hatch. It pipped and zipped but no hatch. I noticed it was slowing down a lot so after a few more hours I googled it and someone said go ahead and peel back the eggs shell to help it. So that’s what I did and now it’s been 4 hours and it looks like it’s struggling to move still. I popped it on its stomach and it keeps rolling into its back. It’s still breathing steadily and once in a while it kicks it legs like it’s trying o right itself with no luck. I’m tempted to move it into a separate small brooder by itself to maybe get warm and dry in case it’s sick or something. All the other chickies look great. Hopping around and pecking. Help. I want to help this little one.

Well just an update. I couldn’t take it anymore so I opened up the incubator to rescue my chicken baby. And it was all dried up on one side. So I set up a box and a heat lamp and took a warm damp paper towel and washed it up all nice and now it’s in the box separate from everyone else drying off. It’s moving more and chirping a lot but it pooped what looked like a clear gel stuff. I’m hoping it’s just from the stress. Will keep a close eye on it and cross my fingers. Not much else I can do I think. Unless someone’s got an idea for me 🤞🏻
