Worried about temp changes

I have 2 rouen girls that are a bit spoiled. They get to be outside in a large enclosure during the day (or running about the yard if we are out there) and they come into the kitchen at night. They are keen on standing on your feet and begging for peas. We put them in a large tub to sleep in over night. In the morning they go back outside. What I am worried about is the major change in temperature. One moment they are all cozy inside and the next they are outside in REALLY cold weather. I read that rapid temperature changes can be very bad for ducks. Thoughts?

Drastic temperature changes can be problematic for any animal.
A duck that is raised outdoors exclusively has adjusted to what nature throws it's way. A duck that goes from a heated environment at night to a cold exterior environment is more likely to develop health issues.
I live where the temps are going into the 20's tonight and there is snow and ice on the ground. I could never bring my ducks in at night and then put them back out in the morning.
Personally, I would make a choice and stick with it for the sake of the ducks.

I think you are right to wonder. I can't pull up any data off the top of my head but it stands to reason that drastic temperature changes have got to be hard on their physiology, so I agree with Willowbrook. Can you set up a well protected place for them to stay overnight? I know that can be hard to come up with at the drop of a hat.
