I have ten 6 weeks old red sex links who are well feathered and have been completely off supplemental heat and outdoors in their run and coop for about a week.
Their run is 10'x10' and their sheltered coop area is 4'x8' completely enclosed but not tightly sealed or insulated, with roosting bars, three nesting boxes, and pine shaving bedding on the floor with window flaps covered in hardware cloth that can be open and closed at various heights for ventilation.
My concern is this..the daytime highs for the rest of the week are only supposed to be in the mid 40sF (when they would usually have access to the run) and the overnight lows will be at or slightly below freezing with a projected low of 28F Friday night (I typically close them into the sheltered coop at night).
Are they gonna be okay with the temps dipping that low?
I do have pics of the run/shelter if that would help.
Thanks!
