Worried About Them Not Drinking

I have 4 baby chicks in a brooder that I introduced a nipple waterer to. It didn't take them but a day to learn how to drink from it. I think that is mostly due to my one little cockerel, as he is extremely curious about everything...

With that said, I have some 1 year old hens that I bought a large nipple waterer for. They avoided it like the plague. I did my best to show them that there is water inside it. But they still avoided it. So I kept their old waterer in there too, which of course, totally defeats the purpose.

Do I just remove the old waterer and let them figure the nipple waterer out? I am worried about them not drinking because I am not able to sit out there and watch to see if they drink from the nipple system.

When they’re brought up with it they can use it (your chicks)
But if they are year olds then it would be extremely difficult, leave the old waterer out with the older ones and when the chicks are old enough to be with the others you can add the nipple waterer in as the chicks that you brought up using it will teach the others

Always have two waterers just Incase!!! :thumbsup
