Went to the br this morning at 6:30.I looked out the window to see just how light it was. I caught movement 20 ft. away in the edge of the woods. Red tail with white tip. Too close for comfort.

Are your chickens enclosed in a pen that it cannot breach? Foxes are pure trouble. Very clever little critters.

I've a fox that shows up now and then in this neighborhood but yet to see tracks in my yard. Heck, this winter after our biggest snow storm was out on porch in early evening to see a coyote ambling down the road as it was plowed and easy walking. Did a double take then ran down to close up the coop.

Well, the person never made here today to get the electric fence working again. He just called said he will come tomorrow morn. I wish I had looked out the window even 60 sec. sooner.I did only see the very end of it's tail and the white tip.
There is no doubt that it was a fox but there could have been one in front of it I didn't see..My outside dogs were sleeping or they would have let me know. Sometimes they are night owls and have to sleep extra in the day.lol

Last year the Mastiffs woke me up and there was a fox about 30-35 feet away in the neighbor's yard.It was in the open part. The street light put enough light on it for me to see what it was. It was a red fox. I went back in to get some firecrackers but it was raining lightly and I couldn't get them to light. Anyway that fox was not scared of me or my dogs.

I would like to let them out on something like that but I live in a neighborhood so is not a good ideal. At least they let me know about them. There's a lot of wildlife behind me.

Darn varmits.Pretty in pics but don't want them near my chickens.
