Worried New Chicken Mama - Blood and Temp Questions

One chick just hatched (a few minutes ago!) and left behind this tissue and blood trail. So far the chick is moving normally and resting. This amount of blood doesn't look normal to me - any thoughts?

2) Temp at top of eggs is 98.5 as suggested by a couple of threads to reduce temp at hatching. IS IT OK FOR TEMP ON FLOOR TO BE ONLY 94? I'm worried the newly hatched chicks will be too cold.

i usually drop the temp to 97 or 98 thats the temp of my brooders and as far as the blood and tissue dont be too concerned ive seen worse just always remember let them do it on their own dont try to help them if they cant break out they are too weak to survive its nature let it take its course i know its hard it took me a long time to learn not to interfere with the hatch but after i helped a few and they died a few days later i learned to but out

OK thanks for the good advice! And for calming my second-hatch-jitters. I'll keep my hands off the incubator and hope for the best.

but when you put them in the brooder make sure the temp is at 97 or 98 for the first few days then you can drop it a few degrees you should be able to find the temp charts on here somewhere but if you cant and are on facebook look up a dozen girls at egg cartonz she has a gret website and does great giveaways too
