Worst Hatches ever please help! !!!!

I incubate at 35% or so, and hatch at 65%. If you go in the incubator a lot, like Amy said, you can have your hatching % higher to compensate for the loss when the bator is opened.

By monitoring the air cells, you can adjust if they start getting too big or not big enough.

I think the red plug is for ventilation, and should be removed for lockdown, when the chicks need the most oxygen.

Although I use a different type of incubator, I still keep my vent wide open the whole time for good gas exchange.

This is my incubator. I will not let these bad hatches beat me! I just cleaned the bator and put fresh eggs in. Should I get another thermometer and hygrometerthat is the same as my existing with the sensor that hangs in the bator or should I get one to leave inside totally? Also, please notice the plug on the top that is red. Do I lane that in or take that out? Your thoughts and experience is very much appreciated

I know the temp is low.I just turned it on

Yup. It's the vent plug. I keep mine open for the whole hatch too. Some people wait until lockdown to open the second one (I don't know if the Hovabator has one or two... LG has 2 unless you add the fan.)

What do you suggest I get for a second temp reading? Should I get another thermometer that sits on top and has a sensor or a thermostat that is all in the bator?
