The reason I am asking is once she started laying eggs I took 5 and put them I an incubator and hatched them will dhebkaid 9 more and I let her hatch them herself but her let's say older babies because they hatched first are in a pen by her will s couple got through the netting and I had to catch them when I did they squeaked a little and she came running to attack did she do this because she knew the chick was hers or because the squeaking she was we worried about the babies that were with her. Just curious if the hen did not yatch the egg would she know it was hers?

She doesn’t know them. Just heard a noise and is defending her brood. I’ve tricked broody hens before by sticking extra just hatched chicks under them at night. It won’t work if they are older and know to run from scary stuff and are already eating and drinking, etc.

She might still attack them, even "loving" mothers who hatch them naturally could attack a baby. On knowing if it's hers or not I'm not sure. My Guinea hen knew the baby I hatched in the brooder was hers so it's possible :)
