would it be alright to put sand then pee gravel on top of the sand in my duck and chicken run ?

yeah i learned alot it was great :)

for the last few weeks i have been reading thro the topic your involved in "Thread formerly known as hatch day is today" at the moment im on page 254 still got a lot to read lol but thats a cool topic and it seems that everyone involved is really nice people :)

LOL, what a massive thread. I met some great people on that thread. Some highs. some lows and a lot of laughs. I have kinda dropped out of it though - I found that all I was doing was reading that thread and msising all the other threads on here.... But I catch up with the the other peeps on facebook now and then.

my father said he thinks chippings will be the best for drainage

so i could get chippings then put a thin layer of sand over the top of the chippings that sound good?
I am not familiar with the term chippings, but if they are shards from stone processing might they have sharp edges? If I were to use them, I would lay fabric (the kind used with stonework) on top of the chippings before laying the sand, because the sand with filter down through and the chippings will come up and possibly scratch and abrade the ducks' feet, which could lead to many cases of bumblefoot.

Also, I use fabric under stone to slow down the process of mud coming up through stone.
