Gammas Bearded Babies
Crossing the Road
Currently 2 cockrels and 2 pullets are still together in their 4x10 coop and 10'x12 run.Did you ever figure out anything? I actually bought a small coop today and plan to put it together tomorrow. One of my boys will be living in it for now. He's way too aggressive during mating and starting to injure my girls. Plus, he keeps trying to fight my big rooster. The bad thing is he's very human-friendly. Anyway, I feel bad for him, so I don't want to get rid of him (I know he won't last long wherever he goes), so I'm going to try a bachelor pad for him. He'll still be able to see the others, but they won't be able to touch them.
The smaller cockrel definitely matured fast and is quite flighty and easily freaked. They are 4 the same age and hatchmates. But the other cockrel is twice size of all of them even though from the same dad and group of hens.
The larger cockrel just last week started asserting himself with the smaller one and so fa so good. But they are only 4 months old.
I have a separate pre-fab coop that I can use if needed as a bachelor pad. I just hate to do that unless absolutely necessary.
So I'm just taking it a day at a time.
