Would It Be Wrong...?

Bahahah! The replies to this are great!

I'll be honest with you though, being silly and cute is great....
But, if you're asking us if it'd be ok, you already know she'd not be happy... Which is again why you're waiting till she's gone and doesn't have access to her arsenal. If I were you, I'd ask her. After all if it all goes to plan, she'd have it back before she returns. At the very least you'd get good spouse points for communicating and valuing her feelings over your desire to test out her new toy.

Whatever happens, and you choose I hope it works out! Also... I'm not gonna lie, totally going to be following this thread to watch the shenanigans and potential cute fluffy chicks you hatch out! I hope you get to do your experiment!!!!

So, I am in the process of driving my dear wife and 6 year old grandson from Florida to Amariilo Tx. Spent about 8.5 hours driving yesterday. I didn't have time to introduce the subject of me potentially "purposing" her future "re-purposed" incubator. But, I did mange in my head to complete the design for a neat egg turner (rocker) with detailed parts list and system wiring diagram. And I also contemplated the best test subjects (if I should go through with the endeavor)...legbars, marans, BLR wyandottes, etc.

If it were me I’d refinish it. It’s lovely and would make a beautiful piece of furniture.
Then I’d purchase or build a new brooder technology has come a long way since that wooden box was considered The latest and greatest. There’s very good reasons why that lovely box would no longer be considered appropriate for chicks.
So the old saying “happy wife happy life” truly does work. Refinish the box. Stuff it full of fluffy stuffed chicks and a nice “I love you card”. Build a modern brooder (do you want to raise chicks?) Get all handsome before she comes home. Play your song in the background (you know what that is) And see what happens. Best wishes
