Would LED aquarium lights be okay for coturnix quails?

I have a used 36" inch aquarium LED light and wanted to know if you could place it on top of a coturnix quail cage so that they can continue to produce eggs all year round.

It depends on how big your pen is, but that would probably work. Make sure to let them get 8 hours of darkness so they can get some sleep.

You can do that but it will short'en their life span. Laying/producing eggs is a biological drain on their systems. It's best to give them a 2 or 3 months rest. You can do that by having several cages with different age groups of quail in each cage.
