Hello! I am looking to buy around a dozen fertile call duck eggs to place under my 2 broody hens. Please let me know if you have any to ship or pick up near Charlottesville/ Ruckersville, VA. I am not particular about color but I would like them to be call ducks. Thank you! PM or text 540 641-2093, thank you!

Reach out to @Ravynscroft she can steer you in the right direction.

Really out of season for Calls right now, mine are mostly molting only have a couple sporadic layers and a couple broody right now...

Dunno if he has any up right now, but ebayer boys_3 (I think that's the username) usually has ads up on ebay... mixed colors and quality, but they're definitely Calls... if you're not picky... he is great to deal with...

Thank you! I'll give that a shot. I had seen a listing on ebay before but then couldn't find it again last week

Good luck!

If you can't find his listing again (I do not know other sellers for sure), give me a holler... if I don't have some soon, I will in spring for sure... :)
Yeah, no luck :( I only apparently have one broody hen now. The Cochin gave up I guess after I kept taking her eggs. I've been on vacation this week and when I got home today, the Cochin was out with the other girls foraging but the BC Marans was still firmly seated on 8 eggs - everything that was laid while I was gone. I guess my mom was not brave enough to get them out from under her. She does look very ferocious when she puffs up and growls or whatever that noise is they make when they are setting and don't want to be messed with. Even if I could get 6 eggs, with a 50% hatch rate I could get 3 little ducklings which would be terrific. Let me know!

50% is average with regular eggs, Calls is significantly less averages when shipped, just fyi...

Unfortunately, I am getting *at most* an egg a day... dunno if they're even fertile yet... :(

I finally found some call duck hatching eggs on eBay! My husband is going to sh!t bricks:hmm. Incubation is 26-28days? Wish me and my broody luck:fl At least it helps, my best friend just brought home a mare and foal unannounced. A few duck eggs ain't nothin'!

:lau :lau

Calls should only take 26 days... but depending on quality, they may need assistance at hatch time... :fl
