Would love confirmation on breed AND gender

Agree that they are too young to be certain of genders. No obvious males.😊

Blue laced gold is a new color variety of Wyandotte.
From what I understand they are the same as a blue laced red though without the mahogany gene, so gold in place of the red coloring. It is not an officially recognized color yet.

That is what I was thinking - nothing said MALE to me, legs seemed pretty refined, not as thick as a male.

But I will admit, I have had chickens for decades and this summer a very nice pullet turned into a rooster over a week-end at about 4 months of age. Totally caught me off guard.

Fingers crossed! I’m analyzing them every day to see if any rooster-ness comes out haha.

Oh, that’s very interesting. Good information. Thanks!

The olive eggers look like them but you won’t know until they lay. Only about 80% of OE hens get the blue egg gene

Your EE is one of the prettiest I've ever seen! I have 5 of them and your pic looks a lot like mine did at that age. I think it's too early to tell.
Thanks!! He’s starting to crow so I think we have a rooster but I’m attached to him so hopefully he turns out to be a nice boy!

Yes, crowing is pretty much a dead giveaway! My EE rooster was terrible. But I've since found some really good videos on Youtube on how to tame a rooster and with my current batch of chicks (three of which are roos) I'm hoping to use the advice in those videos to ensure they are all good boys.
