Would this 5 gallon bucket be safe to use for a feeder?

dh insists it would be fine if we washed it out. He buys oil for the machinery in 5 gallon buckets. It's new oil but is it even possible to get it all out?

Oh I'd definitely use soap, and lots of it. I know when I wash a greasy dish by hand, I almost have to put soap right on it to get all the grease off. I do have a couple of buckets I bought empty so I may rally to use those. When I mentioned making a feeder dh brightened up and said 'we have lots of buckets' and he rarely gets excited about anything chickenny. lol

Clean one up and let it dry in the sun for a while then smell it. Should be ok, I'd think.
