Have you tested it yet? just ran it without eggs?

i would think that plastic would leak a lot of heat, being so thin and all, it would also heat up easier on hot days too, because its thin and see-through.

you should do a test run for a few days to see if it will hold temp & humidity. it's really neat looking, i hope it works for you!

PS: i have hatched quail, chicken & duck eggs all together, but the duck eggs do seem to grow better at about 102 for me, thats in my LG. the quail eggs didnt seem picky AT ALL! they were poppin out left & right!

its holding steady at just under 100 F
i just put 2 quail eggs in there now
how meny times a day do u have 2 turn them ?

Turn them at least three times each day. If you turn them and it holds a steady temp and humidity you should be good to go. Good luck!

Those humidity gages might not be too expensive, I saw one advertised on a UK website for about 12 pounds. I think you should ask at the pet store because they are used in reptile tanks (if that kind would also work in a brooder?)

You can get one from walmart. they have the temp and humidy on one.

Do you have a lid ready?

Just letting you know to make sure you tested the temp with the lid on. put a couple of small holes in the lid.
