I went to open a new duck feed bag this morning, and I filled up a bucket and left the rest in the bag, and took a scoop out of the bottom of the bag to give to the ducks for their breakfast. However, when I pulled up the scoop, there was some moldy feed in it.
I talked to my mom about it, and she thinks it's safe to feed them the stuff in the bucket that doesn't look like it was moldy. I saw one or two pieces, but otherwise it looked fine. However, I don't really want to feed them it, but I wanted to ask here since my mom seems reluctant to go up to the feedstore. (If it's even open. And it's understandable when we have the virus to worry about. )
Is the feed near the top of the bag ok to give to my ducks? Or is the whole bag compromised? Any reasons/facts as to why not so that I can convince my mom to get more if I can't feed it?
Thanks so much.
