Would this hose timer be good for giving ducks water every day?

Seems like if you put that timer on the drain of the almost self cleaning duck waterer it would be self cleaning.

Seems like if you put that timer on the drain of the almost self cleaning duck waterer it would be self cleaning.

Those timers won't work long for the mucky water that the duck produce!
My idea is to replace the ball valve with an electric gate-valve and control that through a microcomputer board (Arduino) that is connected to the Wireless lan here.
Me looking out of the window , seeing the water is dirty and just click on a button on my phone…
