My SIL gave me 5 of her young buff rocks, who have just started laying. One of the eggs I got tonight was still very warm, but has a chip out of it. She apparently perched low and just "dropped" it from her low perch which caused the small chip. The thing is, the membrane is still intact. I put it in the fridge and I plan to eat it in the next day or so. Would you eat it since the membrane isn't broken?

I don't eat any cracked eggs, since bacteria can get in too easily. However, if you eat it tonight it would probably be safe.

"When in doubt, throw it out" are words to live by. If I crack a clean egg on my way to the house, I MIGHT eat it immediately. Or it might get thrown away. Food poisoning is really a drag. Mary
