What about the bargain assortment from Holderreads? You can get some Holderread quality birds for $9 a gosling which is about what I pay for hatchery quality birds down here.

That's a good idea. I have also ordered ducks from Metzer's as was very happy with them. They're pets, though, not SQ. All four ducklings arrived healthy and still are 3 years later.

Personally, I would prefer to buy local if I can, but that's not always possible.

I am fairly certain the ducks and geese I bought from my feed store came from Ideal. Since I was only looking for pets I am very happy with them. My ducks are friendly and healthy and growing well. The geese are also friendly and healthy. I especially liked that I could just get females as I am not interested in breeding.
