No way! 8 weeks really?!?! Hmm imma have to ask my husband to ask his friend for some quail eggs next spring. He bought some quail this year. Is the meat to feed ratio good? Or is it worth it because quail taste so good?
Yes really!! They’re like fully grown and everything. Some even lay as early as 6-7 weeks and obviously some might be slightly later but yeah most like right around 8! And you should join the quail hatch along thread!! :D lots of good info there and @Kiki is always trying to give away eggs and/or get new people into quail. :lau from what I understand they’re pretty economical to feed/raise but I’m not really entirely sure. Mine are only 3 1/2 weeks old 😂🤣

This one is really tough! I've only ever owned chickens, and I absolutely love them. But, I have always wanted to own ducks, geese, and peafowl. I always thought it would be absolutely incredible to have a peacock strutting around in my backyard.
Since I have never owned any of these other birds before though, I think I'm going to have to go with chickens.

I feel like chickens are much more domesticated than other poultry/birds so that’s why I went with chickens.

Oh so he might get eggs soon then or are they seasonal layers? I’ll ask my husband anyway.

We have too many new birds this year so we’ll probably end up waiting til next year anyway because I have so many coops to build and pens to put up that I can’t add learning about caring for quail to the list.

Who has the next Would You Rather question??

I don’t think they’re seasonal but idk. It depends on the type of quail. And that makes sense!

Would you rather have a broody who hatches all your eggs and raises the chicks but you can never hold a chick again or an incubator with 100% hatch rate but never again have a broody?

Hmmmm this is a really tough one!!! I LOVE my quail now that I have them but they’re so small lol and most of those other birds are either super messy, super loud, super big, or all 3 LOL I don’t think I would ever own guineas or peafowl but I would like to try ducks and turkeys eventually. But waterfowl are sooooo messy. But so cute. And turkeys I hear are like little dogs which is also cute. So :barnie I don’t know!!! I don’t think I could go without chickens but they can be kinda mean sometimes too and I like to experiment so I really don’t know!!! Not sure if I could answer!!!! LOL I guess if I HAD to choose, maybe other species? Cause they seem to have more personality and I could buy chicken eggs somewhere else but idk. I love my chickens :hit so maybe I’d choose chickens.
Hey!! Only one answer!! :old ;)
