Brood chicks in the summer? Why?
Brood chicks in the winter? Why?
I would rather brood in the winter so I can keep the temp more steady inside the brooder. A friend of mine prefers to do it in the summer- in fact she just had about 40 chicks hatch this week. I think it is harder to keep the temp right in the summer, especially if your brooder is outside. Today the high is 99 with a low of 68 tomorrow the high is 72 with a low of 48 < see the problem?
