Wound care - HELP

I just discovered that one of my 24 week old pullets has a gaping wound on the back of her neck. I cleaned it with water but I don’t know how to treat it. i’m not sure if it’s from my rooster when he mounts her or if she stuck her head under something and sliced it.(I can’t imagine what would’ve done it. ) the bottom portion looks like a 1 inch slice and it’s gaping open 3/4 of an inch if it were one of my kids, we’d be going to the emergency room for stitches.Does anybody have any suggestions?

My local vet that would see her isn’t open til tomorrow morning so I’m looking for wound care suggestions for overnight. I put her in a separate smaller coop with food and water.

If you have any saline or Vetericyn, chlorhexidene, or weak Betadine, I would dab some on or flush it. Then apply some plain Neosporin or Polysporin generic ointment twice a day. Saline is made with 1/2 tsp of salt in 8 ounces of cup of water. Leave the wound open, keep her away from flies, and separate her so she doesn’t get pecked. It looks like she may have been attacked. That can be a common place for a rooster to pull out feathers as they breed the hen. Others could have pecked her, or she could have been attacked by a predator.
