Something hurt my Marshmallow girl. She has a wound on her chest and I’m not sure if it’s from an another chicken or one of my weeenie dogs. It doesn’t look or smell infected but it definitely looks weird. It kinda protrudes out. She acts like her normal self. Still eating and drinking ok.Will she be ok ? I have been spraying chlorihexidine once daily.

It looks like it's already well on its way to healing and has scabbed over nicely. Is the wound warm to the touch? Can you tell if there is any pus?

If you have any concerns that it may be infected or could get infected, consider administering antibiotics.

Can you feel her crop, and tell us if that scab is over her crop or on her chest? Is it hard or moveable? Is she eating and drinking?

Does anyone know what could have done it does it look like something Another chicken would do or dog and she got lucky and got away bc we have both weenies and chickens

Is it directly over her breastbone/keel? Sometimes we see breast blisters that can scab over and abscess, and those may be caused by a rough roost bar, lying down a lot of the time, especially on damp or soiled bedding or soil. Another possibility besides a wound, would be a skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma. I would try to soften the scab with some warm compresses held to the scab a couple of times a day. Then apply plain antibiotic ointment.
