Just wanted to pass this along, we have chicken with a open wound that is having a hard time to heal, it's right where she folds up her legs when she sits, and sleeps. Her scales keep opening it up. To shield this we used a typical sleep mask you would wear over your eyes. The elastics go in front and behind her wings and the mask is on top of her wound, when she sits the passing on the mask protects her wound from her scales on her leg. This is very helpful when she sleeps at night, the wound is finally keeping a scab can look to be healing well. I assume a week or two of this should be enough, and she doesn't seem to mind at all.
