Three of my chicks have bumbs/wounds on their beaks, and yes I have isolated them. This one was the first and she seems to be getting worse. She keeps her right eye closed most of the time but opens it sometimes. She also stays curled up unless she sees food or if you approach her. Kindly advise on what could be wrong and how to treat and prevent such in future.

Can you open the eye and look for bubbles/foam or any gunk? She may have something developing in it, such as a respiratory infection or she may have been pecked. The bump on her comb could be from a peck or injury from a feeder. I would put some Terramycin eye ointment or plain Neosporin ointment in the eye or at least irrigate her eye with some eye wash. Make sure that her coop and bedding are clean and dry, and that there are no ammonia fumes. Does she get picked on?

She looks young, and that is when coccidiosis can occur. Is she having runny poops or not eating? If she is having any diarrhea or blood in her poop, and not eating, I would think about treating her with Corid.

Hi thaks for the reply, yeah she is young. Will check tomorrow for the "bubbles/foam or gunk". The poo too, however I think her apetite is ok.

The one in the last picture seems to have contracted fowl pox, it is a virus often transmitted by mosquitoes.

Read the article and did some research, and this is definitely it!! Sadly there's no treatment yet😔. Hope she'll pull through. Thanks a lot!!
A good vitamin supplement, healthy diet and stress-free environment can help a lot to strenghten their immune system. Good luck!
