An OEGB pullet named sugar layed this today. Can you believe this monster? (sugars is the one on the left )
No there isn't a shell on it and that's a good thing considering how long she suffered trying to lay this. What will she do when they get bigger? Can you imagine her trying to sit on a clutch of these? Her little feet will just dangle. She is the white pullet in the photo.

Ya know.. I'm still astonished at how big an egg my littlest hay lays.. No wonder she acts like she's in labor trying to get the thing out.

Congrats on your egg!

I know ! She did have labor , it took her hours to get it out and she was much to spent to cackle afterwards.
The egg was over a third as long as her body !

Wow! That's beautiful rooster too! I am still awaiting the arrival of my first egg. My chickies were hatched September 17. Think I would be exhausted too!

I always feel bad for the big egg layers, lol! I have 3 boys, and I always think that it must be like going through labor e.v.e.r.y. day :o

Ok, I have to ask; what is the Coke can for?

Hiya. If you're saying she struggled a long time to lay the shellless egg, the lack of shell may be why.

Sorry! I didn't even think of that...was thinking maybe it was some kind of chicken toy I hadn't thought about, lol!
