Hi everyone,
I've been researching for a couple of months and decided to try my grandparents incubator. Last week I successfully hatched 10 out 12 shipped quail eggs and also got 17 chicken eggs. The chicken eggs were jacked up. Several of them had detached air cells. I hatched 1 chick. I'm not sure if it's an Ameraucana or a Easter egger. Also shipped eggs. I got 16 more eggs from a local farmer. So far it looks like 13 are developing nicely. They go on lockdown in 6 days. A animal control offer friend of mine called me 2 days ago and begged me to hatch a goose egg for her. She didn't want it destroyed :) I have a goose egg now.
I just wanted to thank the experienced people on here who took their time to help me and others like myself, be successful in our first efforts. I have gotten so much useful information from you guys. Thanks to each and everyone one of you. I wouldn't have been as successful without all the great help.

If you don't know how many days it is for a goose egg to hatch, you may want to post on the goose threads ( at Other Backyard Poultry forum) they may have totally different humidity & temperature needs than chickens. I do hope it will hatch for your friend.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. Congratulations on the successful hatch. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in hatching your goose egg.

Thanks. I'm glad I found you guys. You've already been so helpful. I really appreciate you guys. I can't believe I have a goose egg :/

Hey thanks a lot. I've done several hours of research on the goose egg. Some of that time was spent here :) I think I might do ok. Thanks for the info. I was super surprised that so many of the quails hatched. I had 83% success. That's pretty darn good. Research paid off huh?

So glad you could join our community! Congratulations on the successful hatch. Hatching eggs can be so much fun and very addicting! Good luck with your current incubation and the goose egg. I've never hatched goose eggs before, but have always wanted to raise geese.
