The last week has been a blast, I have loved every minute spent being a new mommy to ten beautiful chicks. Man time flies, my babies are getting so big, it's so fun to watch them and to see there little feathers growing. So far so good everyone seems to be doing great and each one has there own personality. i guess I better get so pics up soon.I love this site and have met so many wonderful people, and I just want to say thank you for all the great advice. So all you new moma's out there how are you and your little ones doing?!

I can't believe how fast mine have grown too! They are just adorable and so much fun to watch. Everyone I have showed them to has just been amazed at how much they have grown in just a couple weeks. People have even started naming them: Balboa is a silver wyandotte that likes to be in charge, George as in curious George, Goldie as in Goldie Hawn because she likes to show off, and Streak because she is always the first one to the food.

Sounds like you've been having a great time! Sadly, I can't have any more birds or I'd be joining in the fun.

Be sure to post pictures soon! Oh, and welcome!

They are addicting! I am amazed at how fast they are growing. We have had ours for 5 days now and the difference is so amazing. I can't believe how they change over night. Their little tail feathers are starting to sprout now. This is our first time with chickens and we are loving it. My daughter (4 yo) is so in love with them and we find her just sitting in front of the brooder watching them. She will say "I am just checking on the babies, Mama and they are all ok!" So cute. She has named all 10 of them and can tell you which one is which too. Everyone that walks into our garage has to stop and sit there for a few minutes just to watch. I am surprised at my husband. He was totally indifferent about getting them, but he is hooked now. He loves them too. SO MUCH FUN!!!!

It's amazing isn't it! I have some 4 week olds and some 10 weeks olds, and the 10 weekers have started to *sound* like chickens over the past week! Totally cracks me up!

I can relate about the husband, mine was the same way, he acted like I was crazy for wanting them, but now he checks on the almost as much as I do. Our kids love to watch them , as do I. My four year old son and husband dug them up some worms on there first trip out doors. It was so much fun to watch them chase eachother and pulling at the worms. They are healthy and active, the biggest problem we have had is one of our girls has crooked toes. She refuses to keep on the booties, but she gets around every bit as well as the others and is growing just as much. I am so hooked, I am just so happy that i got them. Still have alot of work to do on the coop and pen but it's getting there. I am so glad that everyone is enjoying there babies, and I wish everyone the best of luck and hope that everyone stays healthy.

I know what you mean! I can't believe how fast my chickies are growing either. I was really surprised too, to see individual little personalities already. They are so much fun! Don't forget to post your pictures

It's so fun reading all the posts from people who are raising chicks for the first time. It goes by in a blink of an eye. Then you drool over other people's chicks!

I've always wondered who uses this smilie.

I got my first 5 chicks from MPC on March 16, hatched the day before. I am addicted to and in love with my little girls!!!

Here they are the first day... they were not happy about having to pose for pics and weren't really cooperative.

...and at three weeks, I've found that giving them some of the turnip greens and lettuce from the garden as a treat every now and then keeps them (and me too!) thoroughly entertained. They tear the stuff up and play keep away!
