Wow, unbelievable!

Originally I was only going to have 2 chicks, which turned into 8 last year.

Now chick days have arrived, we are picking up 2-3 more tomorrow. For sure at least one Maran. I want dark eggs. I have plenty of room for them too.

Integration is a pain, but it can be done. Last year it took 3 long weeks to integrate my second batch. Anyways, I'm beyond excited! I'm kinda hoping they have meaties. I'd love to raise my own meat. We'll see.

Raising chickens has really enlightened my life. I spend a everyday with my girls.

Oh, we set up the brooder today and got everything ready!

I set up my brooder today also! And tested the eat lamp for a few hours to make sure it was adjusted properly. Now I just have to wait until Friday to get some chicks.

I bought my babies. One cuckoo Maran, one white brahma and I forgot what the third one was. It's some white layer my daughter picked out.
