We grew to many watermellows and decided to give some to the chickens. Husband took one to their yard on Sunday and broke it up for them and they had a field day with it!! This morning I took another one out their and they saw me coming and I could hardly get in the gate. I threw it on the ground to bust it up and oh my!! what a rush!! What fun!!!

I like to freeze my leftover whole mellons and feed them frozen to the chooks in the super sweltering heat of SW Oklahoma. It's a great way for them to cool off and get a little energy boost.

Pink and watery. Some people think that they're super sick but they're not.

We also gre these crazy cukes - yard longs - and well one plant gives you about 20 aday!!! They so so massive that there is no way 2 people could eat one and our neighbors all are "No Thanks" to any more. So tomorrow I am going to try these. Any thoughts?

mine love sliced cucumber too. As for the watermelon, when ever we have it, my son loves it, I stick the rind in the freezer to take out and give them on a hot day. It really cools them off.
