You are correct, my friend. I'm not looking forward to wasting those big lovely speckles to check fertility, I'll collect for a couple more days before setting them, tho.

Those speckled genetics are just getting ready to reappear in more pullets… one ‘wasted’ speckled egg could be 600 more over the years.

Sad news this morning.. W/R passed away overnight. She's been battling something respiratory I believe and we've had her separated while we try to get her feeling better, but lost the battle. I had some names picked out for the banded girls but hadn't designated them yet. So with that, she is forever Doro and resting comfortably next to Joannie now, hopefully at peace.
