At what age do they lose the head spot, or does it stay for life (if it isn’t covered by copper)?

I’ve always thought it was just in the chick down.

This pullet is a first for me to see it this long. The placement of the headspot I think is the issue, as both males I've had were more on the top of the head so it grew in full copper there. With hers being next to the comb it may stay there. I'm really curious to see what happens.

I noticed one of the 2 Blue Silvers with headspots yesterday was still there also. I'll get some real good pics here shortly of all of them with ages to document. The one Blue I did see, the spot was much more diluted like a beige color.

Extremely interesting stuff I think for sure. Just wish I knew much more about it. Maybe it's just a common thing...

Because I have a boat load of stuff to do, I negated all that hogwash and decided to do a head count of Marans instead for funsies.
This doesn't include Black or Lil Black my suspect MMMs or OEs but it does include the 12 Kong x Solo (Gold x Silver Marans babies) or any I've sold which was 15 just recently.

54 littles = 71 Marans.

3 coops on 3 free-range shifts each day.

Oh, and can't forget 3 broodys still sitting on 23 eggs but we don't count our chickens...blah blah blah.

And with all that gobbly gook above that 3rd broody above is a Barred Rock now sitting on 10 Poppy x Solo eggs for our first Pure Silvers hatched by our own eggs.

I know you carefully avoided counting any mixes and thereby didn't mention the incubator eggies either. let's get you over that 100 mark!
